Erik Bedard Throws Six Shutout Innings In Mariners Win

by @ 11:08 pm. Filed under Uncategorized

The Mariners continue to hang around with a 24-25 record and that’s in a division where nobody wants to break out.  They did it behind a solid start by Erik Bedard.  He gave up six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six shutout innings.  Brandon League threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his twelth save of the season.

The Mariners got only five hits but they made the most of them. Franklin Gutierrez went two for three with a home run and two runs.  Brendan Ryan also had a nice game and he went two for three with a triple and an RBI.

The Rangers are a good team and they’re getting some of the guys back so the Mariners have to keep winning.    Unfortunately the Yankees are coming into town so it’s not going to get any easier.
