Mariners Double Up Athletics in Second Straight Win

by @ 5:55 am. Filed under 2007 Mariners

Huh, maybe the Mariners won’t be as bad as a lot of people thought.  I know it’s only two  games but the A’s are supposed to be pretty good and so far, the Mariners have had no problems with them.  Last night, the Mariners racked up eight runs in the 8-4 win with Ichiro Suzuki, Richie Sexson, and Yuniesky Betancourt all driving in two runs.  Sexson hit his second homerun in as many games and Betancourt also went yard.

Jarrod Washburn threw six solid innings but it was Julio Mateo who picked up the win.  Miguel Batista gets the start tonight and a sweep sure would be nice.  We’ll also get to see if Rich Harden is really back.
